7 Proven Ways To Make Money Online

There are several ways to make money online. If you have a blog or website, and you have visitors, then you’re ready to make money!
Earning money with a blog or website is very popular. The good news is that there are several ways to do that! The bad news is that it takes some time and research to find which way of earning money works best for you.
1. Google Adsense
Let’s begin with the most simple way of making money: Google Adsense. With Google Adsense you can place ads on your blog of website. There are several options: will you show only text ads, or image ads, or both? You can also choose colors and size of the ads.
Wen showing on your page, every time a visitor clicks on one of your ads, you will earn some money. How much? That’s hard to tell because it depends on a lot of factors.
It’s important that you generate a lot of traffic. It’s also a process of trial and error: you’ll have to find out what’s the best location on your blog to place your ads. Google provides a lot of information and tips, and after some trial and error you really can make some money with Adsense. But don’t expect to get rich of it!

If your blog has some decent traffic (more then 10.000 pageviews a month), then it’s not a bad idea to think about placing ads on it to make money. An easy way to do this is through the ad network buysellads.com. This is a place where webmasters and advertisers sign up and meet. As a webmaster you offer ad space on your blog. As an advertiser, you look for a blog to place your ads on. With this system you don’t earn money depending on clicks, but a flat payment a month. Popular ad places are banners on top or thumbnails (125px x 125px) on the right. If you’re running a blog on WordPress, Joomla or Drupal, you can install plugins to show these ads.
You can choose how much you ask for an ad space on your blog, but it’s a good idea to check prices of the other blogs. Buysellads.com keeps around 30% for them, but they do all the administrative work.

3. Managing the ads yourself
Similar to buysellads.com, you can do all the work yourself. This can be an interesting option to make money IF you have a VERY popular blog. Don’t forget you have to do the administrative work yourself.
4. Affiliate programs
A very popular way of making money online is through affiliate programs. Amazon.com was one of the first to do this. If you can lead a visitor of your website to Amazon.com and your vistior buys a product, you’ll earn a percentage of what Amazon.com earns. And it’s not only Amazon.com that offers affilate programs, today almost every company that sells on the internet offers affiliate programs.
The trick is to weave these affiliate links in your articles. Just placing affiliate links to products doesn’t work that well.

5. Automate your affiliate programs with Viglink (tip!)
With Viglink it’s possible to automate your affiliate income: you just have to sign up at www.viglink.com, install their plugin and Viglink will turn all the hyperlinks on your blog or website in affiliate hyperlinks. If a certain hyperlink is already an affiliate link, Viglink will leave it that way.
Viglink keeps a certain percentage but it has a some great advantages:
- You just have to sign up once
- You always have the right affiliate hyperlinks
- You only have to reach 1 minimum amount to get paid

I think this is a great way of earning money if you are a beginning blogger. Once you see that you get a lot of commissions for a certain product, you always can sign up for that particular affiliate program to make even more money!

6. Selling products
Another succesful way to make money with your blog is to sell your own products. If you also run a store, a blog can be a good way to promote your store (for more information, read another article of me, “how blogging can boost your sales”).
A popular product is an E-book. It’s easy to create and today, it’s also easy to sell. If you have a lot of visitors on your blog, then you also have a public that might be interested. Selling e-books is something to think about!

7. Promoting services
You can also promote services. For example, I started a blog about creating websites. On that blog, I also promoted my own company. I didn’t expect it, but I got a lot of orders thanks to that blog! Not only did some people asked me to create websites, I’ve also been asked as a speaker.

To make money online you first need a lot of visitors. That’s why it’s very important to give your visitors some value. The number 1 rule is to write unique content. Don’t copy paste content from other websites but try to create high quality content yourself! This will generate visitors and the more visitors you get, the more money you can make online!
